Hi again. Sorry it's been a while.
First off, there are two new blogs I am now linking to, and they both merit special attention:
winemedinemecinci has only been around for a few weeks, and, whether you live around here or not, you should definately give Julie a read. Besides, she is brave enough to link to me, for that we are greatful. Candidly, I'm a bit embarrased, given that she is a "real" writer and, truth be told, could cook circles around me in a kitchen. But I'm taller. So :P
Second, thestudentstomach is worth checking out.
So, me.
Let's see. I did go to Burlington again a couple of weekends ago. Memo. Vermont in January is cold.
Beth and I collaborated on a passable coq au vin. We had fun speaking to each other in zee reediculous Fraaunch aug-zents as we cooked.

I feel like I'm channeling Jennifer Love-Hewitt when I say it was, like, totally totally amazing.

Unfortunately, the next significant cooking project, Sunday night's Veal stock, was an unmitigated disaster. The bones smelled good as I roasted them, but after a deglazing and a simmer, this...smell sort of enveloped the apartment. A burned, beefy almost suffocating tallow smell... you think I would be used to it! Anyway, I'll stick with store-bought beef broth when I do my braised short ribs this weekend.
I'll post more as soon as I can.
